Western Sydney Sports Festival was established in 2013 to improve physical activity rates, enhance health outcomes, and promote intercultural collaboration through sports in the region. Despite attracting over 2,000 participants in sports and 15,000 spectators from 30 different nations and ethnicities over the last five years, the project needed help in reaching a broader audience and increasing engagement.
Goals and Objectives
To address the challenges faced by Western Sydney Sports Festival, the team at Bold x Collective devised a digital marketing strategy focused on Facebook geo-targeting, re-targeting, and re-marketing to increase conversions, reduce CPA and CPC, and improve overall engagement.
How Bold x Collective Helped
Using highly specified Facebook geo-targeting, we were able to drive a high volume of traffic to the website from individuals interested in sports, both team and individual, as well as those seeking networking opportunities in Western Sydney.
Furthermore, we created custom audiences based on past Facebook pixel data to re-target the 98% of past visitors who didn't convert with specific ad sets to encourage them to revisit the website. We also used AdRoll for retargeting off-site events to improve conversions. Additionally, we leveraged past email addresses and mailing lists to create a remarketing campaign to engage with past attendees and encourage them to attend again.
Outcome

Through Facebook geo-targeting, re-targeting, and remarketing, we could drive a high traffic volume to the website and engage with both past and new attendees, resulting in increased conversions and reduced CPA and CPC.
